Retreat into a cool cathedral of calm at the water's edge

Just next door to Villa Su stands a place we have coveted for many years. Now, for 2010, the Canadian owner has finally agreed to have his fabulously spacious villa included in the Elixir Collection.
Villa Konak - the name means mansion - stands right on the edge of the peninsula, with its own large bathing platform at the sea shore. The name is well chosen, because this is a big villa, whose cool, airy interior is matched by the vast expanses of its shaded veranda and sun-warmed barbecue terrace, both of which extend to 50 square metres. At 90 square metres, the stunning infinity pool is also considerably larger than the usual villa pool.
The setting makes the most of the glorious views, with the Greek island of Meis close by and 15 other islands shimmering in the warmth of the clear waters. You wander down steps to the shore through an ancient olive grove, descending to the sea from the bathing platform via steel stairs. Note that this may not be suitable for the very young, the elderly, or people with disabilities.
Inside, the open plan kitchen and living area make a cathedral-like space, with a high ceiling stretching fully 25 metres. It's the kind of room that is always cool and serene.
Every room has superb views of the sea. On the upper level, where again the ceilings are high, there are two generous double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, and a third twin bedroom with private wc. A spacious hallway leads to a large terrace, always with those lovely views.
Villa Konak is a place to stretch out and bask in the cool of a soaring interior, or on a deck soaked in sunshine, with a shimmering panorama of timeless Mediterranean beauty all around you.

Accommodation

Lower level: Air-conditioned open plan living space furnished with specially designed hand made modern furniture; fully fitted and equipped modern kitchen, with dishwasher refrigerator and separate freezer; dining area

Upper level: Open plan hall to terrace and sea views; two air-conditioned double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms; air-conditioned twin bedroom with private wc; separate utility room with washing machine, boiler and storage.

Outside: Barbecue terrace; covered veranda and outside shower; cultivated gardens front and back.

Two hours from Dalaman airport
